The Key To A Brighter, Healthier Smile
What Are Dental Implants?
At Rivertown Dental, we understand the impact of missing teeth on oral and mental well-being. Those living with missing teeth may face difficulties such as trouble chewing or speaking, ongoing discomfort, movement of neighboring teeth, and a possible decrease in self-confidence. We are committed to addressing these challenges associated with tooth loss by offering top-quality dental implants.
Dental implants are a highly effective solution for those with missing, decaying, or failing teeth. Dental Implants comprise implant posts, an abutment connector, and the restoration (new teeth). The implant posts are inserted into the jawbone to serve as the tooth root, and an abutment connector is placed on top to connect the new set of teeth to the implant posts. This creates the durable foundation for which dental implants are known. At Rivertown Dental, we are committed to offering a wide range of implant options aimed at helping those achieve their desired smile at any of our four locations in Viroqua, Arcadia, Holmen, and La Crosse, WI!

Tailored Implant Solutions For Every Need
- 01
Single Implants
A single dental implant is an excellent solution for individuals who have lost a tooth. These dental implants mimic the appearance and feel of natural teeth, effectively restoring your smile and boosting your confidence.
A single dental implant comprises a metal post surgically inserted into the jawbone, providing a stable base for a replacement tooth. This post acts as a tooth root, delivering a dependable and long-lasting remedy for tooth loss.

Dental Bridges
A dental bridge is a prosthetic device specifically created to replace a lost tooth in a person's mouth. This artificial tooth requires natural teeth on both sides to ensure a secure connection of the prosthesis to the adjacent teeth that border the gap.
Dental bridges improve the visual attractiveness of the smile and overall facial structure and enhance an individual's self-confidence. Furthermore, they are essential in maintaining the stability of the surrounding teeth, preventing them from moving into the space created by the absence of a tooth.

Implant-Supported Dentures
Implant-supported dentures are a type of overdenture securely attached to dental implants surgically placed in the jawbone. They offer enhanced stability and comfort compared to traditional dentures, which don't slip or shift during eating or speaking.
These dentures can be removable or fixed, depending on the patient's needs and the number of implants used. Implant-supported dentures also help preserve jawbone density, preventing bone loss that can occur with regular dentures.

Full Mouth Dental Implants
Full mouth dental implants are a comprehensive solution for replacing all teeth in the upper, lower, or jaws using dental implants as secure anchors for prosthetic teeth. This treatment provides a natural-looking and long-lasting alternative to dentures, offering improved function, aesthetics, and comfort.
This treatment restores chewing ability and aesthetics and helps prevent bone loss by stimulating the jawbone. Full mouth implants can be customized to each patient, offering long-lasting, comfortable results that improve oral health and overall quality of life.
Our Personalized Implant Procedure Process
We will start your journey to a refreshed smile with a personalized consultation, during which we will discuss your dental concerns, smile goals, and medical and dental history. We will then conduct a thorough oral examination and utilize state-of-the-art digital diagnostic tools to fully understand your dental anatomy. With this information, we will create a personalized treatment plan specifically designed to meet your smile and oral health goals.
On the day of your procedure, we will administer your choice of sedation. Following the surgical guide and treatment plan we created at your consultation, we will make small incisions into your gums and place 4-6 dental implant posts into predetermined spots within your jawbone.
Once these are placed, we will attach an abutment connector and place your temporary set of teeth on top. With this set of temporary teeth, you can enjoy all the benefits of a brand-new, complete smile! You can eat all your favorite foods and smile confidently while your mouth heals.
While your mouth heals over the next few months, we’ll schedule a few follow-up visits here at our office to assess your gums, implants, and surrounding teeth and determine if healing is progressing without complications. We may take digital X-rays to ensure there is no accumulation of plaque and tartar and/or signs of inflammation or infection.
Over the next four to six months, your implants will fuse with your jawbone through osseointegration. Once your implants have fused and your incisions have healed, we will place your hand-crafted final set of teeth. These new teeth are designed to match your face shape, skin tone, and gum line to ensure a perfect and comfortable fit. With routine visits and proper at-home care, your implants have the potential to last a lifetime!
